Counselling and Psychotherapy

Therapeutic counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples.

At various times in our lives, receiving support from a professional who provides a safe, compassionate and confidential space can be life changing.

Individuals seek counselling for various reasons, including: understanding why relationships are not working, receiving  grief support, understanding the impact of trauma, adjusting to changed circumstances, learning how to understand and manage symptoms of anxiety or depression as well as addressing existential concerns to name a few.

I am able to support you to build awareness, empowerment and self compassion as you embark on your journey.  I believe in our inherent desire for growth and have deep respect for the fragility and vulnerability that is a part of being human.

My work draws on attachment theory, neurobiology, Gestalt and Emotionally Focused psychotherapy, mindfulness and Buddhist psychology to help you explore the blocks to your personal and relational health. My approach is trauma informed, creative, and works with both body and mind.

Relationships are one of the most important parts of our lives. I am passionate about providing a safe space to support couples to explore disconnection and rebuild bonds.

My relationship of 25 years and my experience as a mother of two daughters, has taught me a lot about the ongoing process of relationships, what can get in the way, and how to move through difficult periods.

In my work with couples, I focus on an experiential and collaborative process of building awareness, safety and care with the aim of increasing intimacy.  I provide relational education to enable understanding, build skills for connection and to make sense of the sometimes confusing nature of relationships.  My approach is informed by my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, neurobiology and attachment science.

I provide support to:

  • learn about attachment styles and their influence on the relationship
  • explore patterns that keep you stuck and to learn ways to create healthy ways of connecting
  • learn to repair and have hard conversations
  • learn new approaches to conflict
  • explore the impact and healing of infidelity
  • deepen emotional bonds to promote care
  • explore the impact of past trauma  where required
